On June 5, 2025, the coastal community of Crusse, in the district of Mossuril, experienced a special day in honor of World Environment Day. This date, celebrated annually since 1973 at the initiative of the United Nations, is a global milestone for reflection and mobilization to protect natural resources and build a more sustainable future.
The celebration was organized by the Project Future Blue, in partnership with ArtFusion and the Environmental Association (AMA), bringing together children, youth, community leaders, and families in a journey that combined environmental education, cultural expression, and community spirit.

Crusse beach became the center of attention, with practical conservation actions and moments of celebration. Residents and partners came together in a cleanup campaign, reinforcing the local commitment to coastal preservation. Cultural and theatrical presentations conveyed strong messages about the importance of caring for the environment, while interactive lectures encouraged dialogue and critical thinking about sustainable practices.
Sports also took a prominent place, with local women’s and men’s teams participating in football games that, more than just competition, promoted integration, cooperation, and community pride.

The celebration was a living example of how culture, sports, and education can walk together to strengthen environmental awareness. For the Blue Future Project, this day represented an opportunity to reinforce that protecting the environment is protecting the life, livelihood, and identity of the coastal communities in Mozambique
