Venue: Nacala Porto
Organisation: InOM with support from the Blue Future project (WCS)
Recognizing the social, economic and ecological value of this ecosystem, and the growing concern for maintaining biological biodiversity at international level (14th Sustainable Development Goal – SDG), as well as at national level, based on the principle of the rational use and management of natural resources, the Oceanographic Institute of Mozambique (InOM) – Nampula Delegation, in collaboration with the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) as part of the Blue Future Project, organised a round table meeting involving different players who can contribute to the sustainable management of natural resources in general and the mangrove ecosystem in particular, with the aim of promoting debate on issues linked to the degradation and restoration of mangrove ecosystems in Nampula province. This round table was held on 12 July 2023 in the city of Nacala-Porto. The debates served to enrich the actions that are taking place on the ground and to ensure that there is optimum monitoring and coordination of activities. The event report can be found in Blue Future website (in resources).
